Die Praxisbeispiele stellen einzelne Einsatzszenarien
digitaler Medien in sächsischen Hochschulen vor. Lehrende zeigen hierbei
Projektlaufzeit: 01.09.2015 – 31.12.2016.
The
stated examples of good practice show possibilities of implementing digital
media in lectures of higher academic institutions in Saxony. Herewith, teachers/
research assistants tell about advantages of their experiences as well as
difficulties they had to deal with. All published interviews are taken from the
project „New culture of teachings and learning for digitalisation of higher
academic institutions “. The project ran form 09/2015 till 12/2016.

Today´s post is about the project MOOC@TU9. Questions were answered by Ms Marlen Dubrau, who worked as research assistant for the Media Center of TU Dresden and was project coordinator for this MOOC.
Fragen an Frau Dubrau:
Was ist MOOC@TU9?
mehrerer Professoren/Professorinnen profitieren.
aktives Lernereignis erfahren.
Heft 2, S. 20, Anm. d. Red.).
Digital teachings and learning in an academic context – example of good practice “MOOCS”
Today´s post is about the project MOOC@TU9. Questions were answered by Ms Marlen Dubrau, who worked as research assistant for the Media Center of TU Dresden and was project coordinator for this MOOC.
Questions to Ms Dubrau:
What is the project MOOC@TU9 about? MOOC@TU9 is a project of the alliance of nine leading
Institutes of Technology in Germany (TU9; Technical Universities). Together
they offer MOOCs in engineering science disciplines, but all courses are open
for participants of other sciences as well and some are also designed for their
integration in the institutes curricula. Another positive point of the MOOC@TU9
is the joint production and execution of courses by, at least, two Institutes of
the TU9. Hence, we are able to give the students and other participants the
opportunity to learn specific content by getting different points of views as
well as by learning from experts of an inter-university structure.
What would you describe as the added value of
the project?
Besides being able to learn independent from time and place, all participants
can be part in an inter-university learning network and take advantage of the
knowhow of different professors. Additionally, the concept of MOOCs enables the
learner to look at the content more actively, to get in touch with others and
to be part of an exciting learning event.
What do you think are the main problems for
academic teachers who want to do a MOOC? There are a few things you have to keep in
mind if you want to set up a MOOC. Especially if you are looking at the
database of material you want to offer to the participants. You need to have a
wide range of resources: for example, when it comes to producing the learning
videos you have to keep an eye on the detailed planning. Sometimes you also
have to rethink the structure of your existing course and content. This means
teachers have to deal with an additional (increased) time effort, which is,
until now, not to be added to the teaching hours. Also, an online-course, like
a MOOC, offers the opportunity for e-examinations for the learner´s
independence of time and place regarding his/her learning process as well as
his/her learning review. Unfortunately, e-examinations are yet legally
problematic (in Germany). Therefore, it needs to be found out if e-assessments/e-examinations
are a proper opportunity for checking the learner´s success.
